Another US muscle car to add to the 1/64 garage. The original Super Bee was based on the Dodge Coronet. It was a two-door coupe model only and was produced from 1968 through 1970. It was the company's low-priced muscle car, cousin of the Plymouth Road Runner, and was priced at $3,027. The name "Super Bee" was derived from the "B" Body designation given Chrysler's midsized cars which included the Coronet (as well as the Roadrunner, Charger, etc.).
With so much Americana that is produced from Hot Wheels, I actually can't remember if I have previosuly bought an incarnation of the model from another year.
But nevertheless, this is quite a good casting. I do like the way that the tampo-ing is applied to this model. Even the wheels look good, when they woud have better suited a smaller car.
